WHY WE DO IT

OUR MISSION

We support individuals in a growth-oriented setting in order for them to achieve the highest level of independence in the least restrictive environment. We pride ourselves in having Next Step residents be active and productive members of their communities. Residents go bowling and shopping weekly in addition to other planned activities based on their interests. Participants regularly visit malls, Brewers games, Bucks games, local dances, restaurants, places of worship, and other local points of interest.

COMPASSION & EXPERIENCE

OUR history

Owners Jerry and April Riegler began their journey into the home health care scene by fostering a young man with special needs. In 1997, the Rieglers decided to expand upon that journey by opening their own group home in West Allis, Wisconsin.

Today Next Step owns and operates 27 adult family homes and CBRF’s throughout Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Washington counties. In addition to its adult family homes, Next Step operates two adult day care facilities in New Berlin, Wisconsin where clients enjoy various community and in-home activities. We pride ourselves on our care for adults with developmental disabilities, persistent mental illness, physical disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries who experience challenging behaviors.

understanding & care

why choose us?

We know that choosing long-term placement for your loved one can be a lengthy and difficult process. Wisconsin is home to numerous health care providers, but while many health care providers exist, not many can provide high-quality care.

So, what sets us apart from the others? Our family approach. We strive to go above and beyond of what is expected to give your loved one the most fulfilling life experiences possible. If you have any questions about what Next Step can offer to you and your loved ones or you would like to take a tour of our facilities, please visit our contact page for additional information.
